HOW TO ORDER:
1.  DINOSAUR STYLE
If ordering Dinosaur Style (thru the mail), you can print out this sheet, then circle the price of what you want and mail it in with your payment.  PLEASE circle with a fine colored marker; any color will do.
2.  ONLINE  Sorry, this is not a full-function interactive website with a shopping cart and card processing ability.  It's Dinosaur-style; it only has listings.  Still, we can improvise!

You can send me an e-mail and type out what you want and the price.
OR, you can cut & paste the item with its description and price.
IF the item exists in several conditions or forms (such as f-vf or vf for stamps, or as Cut Squares or Full Corners) please indicate which you want.
OR you can cut & paste large portions of the list and
HIGHLIGHT whatever you want.  Green (the 00-80-00 shade for the techs out there) works well, as does Red (the FF-00-00 shade).
I accept VISA, Master Card, and American Express.  I also accept PAY PAL,
at my e-mail address of "slwarking@erols.com".
3.  PHONE  IF your order is relatively simple or if you have a few questions, you can phone me at 718-939-5788.  For me, "business hours" are flexible.  I'm usually in, and if I'm not, you get the answering machine.  Leave your #; I'll get back to you.

TERMS OF PURCHASE:  Items from this list may be combined with items from my other lists for a MINIMUM ORDER of $15.  ALL ORDERS will be shipped via Insured or Registered mail, for your protection.  Please add $2 for postage and insurance to all orders.  Smaller orders will carry private insurance and will have NO USPS markings.    There's no "handling" fee; just actual postage expenses.  This is for U.S. orders only.  Overseas shipments, please e-mail me in advance for shipping information.
New York State Residents, please add the appropriate Sales tax.  VISA, Master Card and American Express are accepted: please include all information which appears in raised print,
PLUS the 3 digit security code which appears on the back.  PayPal accepted.

SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED ON ALL ORDERS

Dear Friends & Collectors,

     Good news and bad news...

The bad news is that the new pickings are lean this month.  I've been actively buying odds & ends...and these items are on my various lists.  But I haven't found any "chunks" of material...no big wads of UPSS envelopes, no new major listings, no "discoveries".

The good news is that I've made great progress with my NEW website (you can find it at stevelevinestamps.com).  Most of the glitches are fixed, and there are now over 2500 Postal Stationery FDCs...both U.S. and U.N..  The mint Stationery listings are in development now...some are already listed   ....the rest should be up & running soon.

The biggest drag on my time...and the biggest improvement...is the images.  Eventually, every listing will have an image...something this current website lacks.  Alas, these images take time...lots of time...to scan.

There are currently 4700 items on my new website.  About 3500 of them have scans.  It wasn't easy...and there's much more work to be done.

Please be patient with me...once the major gutwork is finished, I can get back to my regular routine of digging up new items for you.

If you're so inclined, give my website a test drive.  I think you'll like it.

SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM WINE REVENUES

Several years ago the Smithsonian Museum sold off somewhere in the neighborhood of 7
million revenue stamps which had been lying in their vaults for over 60 years.  Their purpose was both to make room for new acquisitions and to raise money for the new items.  After all, if you're a museum, do you really need 100 sheets in the vault...when only ONE is needed to display to the public?
The stamps I'm offering below are from that holding...after passing thru the hands of several large wholesalers and middlemen.  They're as fresh as they day they were printed...1942.  However, fresh as they are, you need to keep 3 things in mind IF you're not all that familiar with these Revenue Issues:
     1.  The sheets of 50 or 100 have straight edges.  That's 26 straight edges on a sheet of 50; a sheet of 100 has 36 straight edges.  You may receive a straight-edged copy.  This is actually good, since the margins on such issues are usually larger than the margins on the interior stamps.
   2.  These issues are ROULETTED, not Perforated.  The edges lack the clean-cut look of perforated stamps.  Fortunately, I bought most of these in blocks and separated them myself.  They're as nice as you can get.
     3.  They have no gum.  They were intended to be glued or taped
to...whatever it was they were to be taped to (either documents, or barrels of wine..).

(I said the pickings were lean; I didn't say they were non-existent!  I do have an interesting item; what's more, it's not a budget-buster.  It was recently highlighted in the November-December issue of Postal Stationery, on
pages 163-65.  Article by Lewis Bussey (Editor of the UPSS Postal Card Catalog...which, by the way, will be out, in the 2010 Edition, sometime later this year).
If you're a UPSS Member, then you've already read the article...if not, I'll give you the condensed version below!

SCOTT #UXC3 BORDER VARIETIES
The UXC3 was produced in 2 printings, on a 90-card sheet and a 120-card sheet.  The cards were printed Tete-Beche...like the scan at the left.  Look closely and you'll see that the BLUE lozenge at the bottom of the middle seam is wider than the BLUE lozenge at the top.  When the cards are lined up straight - as they are at the right - the difference is obvious.
Now, SOME sheets were produced this way, probably the first printing.  SOME sheets, possibly the second printing, were prepared with the lozenges equal.
Thus, there are 3 types of UXC3, as follows:
TYPE A: WIDE BLUE LOZENGE AT TOP.  From the first printing.
This is the LEFT scan, RIGHT (upside-down) card.
TYPE B: WIDE BLUE LOZENGE AT BOTTOM.  From the first printing.
This is the LEFT scan, LEFT (normal position) card.
TYPE C: BLUE LOZENGES NARROW AND EQUAL.  Probably the 2nd printing.
     Not shown.

The RED lozenges are just bystanders: they are all narrow.  The difference in length of the lozenges is not great; the "wide" lozenges are 9mm along the edge; the "narrow" ones are 8mm.  Still, you can spot them visually.

The good news here is that nothing is "scarce".  The type C appears to be the most common, but there are plenty of A's and B's to go around.  WHEN the dust settles on these varieties, I see a slight premium for the A's and B's...but for the time being, they're all the same.

THE PRICE IS $5.00 EACH.  TYPE A, B, OR C.

AS last month, I wish I had more to offer.  There's still a big backlog of material in storage...but most of it will yield 1-of-a-kind cut squares, full corners and UPSS# envelopes, as well as some Ebay-able material of the Postal History persuasion.  WHEN this material is offered, I'll be in touch.

     Best Regards,
